These Terms govern your use of palumachat.com (the “Site”), operated by Paluma Labs (“Paluma”, “we”, “us”). By using the Site or joining the waitlist, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please don’t use the Site.
About Paluma
Paluma is a community-first AI character network operated by Paluma Labs, offered as a mobile app with a web experience to follow. This Site provides information about Paluma, lets you join the waitlist ahead of launch, and sets out the terms that apply to Paluma and its paid subscriptions. Features, pricing, and offers may change over time.
The waitlist
- Joining the waitlist does not create any account and does not guarantee access to Paluma.
- You may optionally tell us whether you want Paluma on Android, iPhone or iPad, or the web. We use that preference to email you when Paluma is available on the platforms you chose.
- If you select Android, you may volunteer for possible beta testing. Volunteering does not guarantee an invitation, and beta access may be limited or withdrawn.
- The referral program is for genuine, personal sharing. Creating fake, automated, or duplicate signups, or otherwise gaming the queue, may result in removal from the waitlist.
- You must provide an email address you own and are entitled to use.
The 7-day Plus Launch Pass
- Eligible waitlist members receive one 7-day Paluma Plus Launch Pass without providing a card or starting a paid subscription.
- You must create your Paluma account with the same email address used for the waitlist. We do not transfer Launch Passes between email addresses.
- The seven consecutive days begin automatically when you send your first Paluma chat after access becomes available to you.
- The Launch Pass is limited to one per person, waitlist email, and Paluma account. It has no cash value and cannot be sold or transferred.
- The Launch Pass does not renew and does not create an automatic charge. When it ends, your account returns to the free plan unless you separately choose to subscribe.
- We may refuse or revoke a Launch Pass obtained through duplicate signups, automation, fraud, abuse, or an attempt to evade eligibility limits.
Founding Members
Founding Member status is separate from the waitlist and the Launch Pass. The first 50 people whose paid Paluma Plus subscription becomes active earn Founding Member status. Joining the waitlist, receiving beta access, or using a Launch Pass does not by itself make someone a Founding Member. Refunded, fraudulent, test, or revoked transactions do not qualify.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Site, including by attempting to disrupt it, access it through unauthorized means, scrape or overload it, or use it for any unlawful purpose.
Using the Paluma app
The sections below apply when you use the Paluma mobile app (the “App”), in addition to everything above.
Eligibility
Paluma is an 18+ product. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the App. We do not knowingly permit minors to use Paluma, and we terminate accounts we learn belong to under-age users.
Your account
You sign in with Google or an email address and are responsible for what happens under your account. One person, one account. Additional accounts created to evade limits or enforcement may be removed. You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings → Delete my account; see Delete Your Account & Data.
Content you create
You keep ownership of the characters, personas, and other content you create. By publishing a character you grant Paluma Labs a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, and distribute it within Paluma so the platform can operate. This includes showing it in discovery and search and allowing other users to chat with it. This licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies needed to keep other users’ existing conversations working (as described in Delete Your Account & Data) and for backups that have not yet rolled over.
You represent that you have the rights to the content you upload, and that it complies with our Content Policy and Community Guidelines, which form part of these Terms.
AI-generated content
Character replies are generated by AI models. They are fiction. Output may be inaccurate, inconsistent, or offensive despite our safeguards, and does not represent the views of Paluma Labs.
Paluma is not a substitute for professional advice. Nothing a character says is medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice, and no character is a real person or a licensed professional. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line; see our AI Safety & Crisis Support page for reviewed helplines.
Your conversations are transmitted to third-party AI providers for processing. See the Privacy Policy before sharing anything sensitive.
Prohibited conduct in the App
In addition to the Site rules above, you agree not to: publish content violating our Content Policy; attempt to extract a character’s hidden definition or our system prompts; use the App to build a competing dataset or model; automate or script interactions; harass other users or creators; or circumvent rate limits, quotas, or enforcement actions.
Moderation and termination
We may remove content, unpublish characters, issue strikes, and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or our policies. Serious violations, in particular anything sexualising minors, result in immediate permanent termination. You can appeal most decisions from Profile → Settings → My Appeals.
Service changes and availability
Paluma is an evolving product. Features, quotas, models, and pricing may change. We may modify or discontinue parts of the service, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
Payments and subscriptions
Paluma offers an optional paid subscription, Paluma Plus, which is sold and billed exclusively through Google Play. Paluma Labs does not collect or store your card or payment details. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and you can cancel at any time from your Google Play account. Cancellations, auto-renewal, and refunds are described in our Refund & Cancellation Policy and are subject to Google Play’s terms and refund policy. Prices may vary by region and may change, with any change applying to future billing periods.
Intellectual property
The Site, the Paluma name and logo, and its content are owned by Paluma or its licensors and are protected by law. Character names, artwork, and conversations shown on the Site are illustrative examples created to demonstrate the product.
No warranties
The Site and the App are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that they will be uninterrupted or error-free, that AI-generated content will be accurate or appropriate, or that any launch date, feature, or offer will be delivered as described.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Paluma will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Third-party links
The Site may link to third-party services (for example app stores or social media). We are not responsible for their content or practices.
Changes
We may update the Site or these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated Terms. We’ll revise the “last updated” date above.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable where Paluma’s operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these Terms removes or limits any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the laws of your country of residence.
