Paluma hosts characters created by its users, including fan characters based on existing works. We respect intellectual property rights and respond to valid takedown requests.
Reporting copyright infringement
Send a notice to support@palumachat.com with the subject “DMCA Takedown”. To be actionable, it must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
- Identification of the specific material on Paluma you want removed, with enough detail for us to locate it, including the character URL or slug and the creator’s handle.
- Your contact information: name, address, telephone number, and email.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on their behalf.
We aim to acknowledge within 2 business days and to act on valid notices within 7 days. Content is typically unpublished while we review.
Counter-notice
If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address including:
- Your signature.
- Identification of the removed material and where it appeared.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, and telephone number, and consent to the jurisdiction of the courts of your district (or, if outside the US, of any district where we may be found).
We forward valid counter-notices to the original complainant. If they do not file a court action within 10–14 business days, we may restore the content.
Repeat infringers
Accounts that repeatedly infringe have publishing privileges suspended and, on continued infringement, are terminated.
Non-copyright takedown requests
The same address handles other removal requests. Please say which applies:
- Trademark: a character misusing your mark or implying endorsement.
- Personality / likeness: a character based on you. Private individuals get removal on request; you do not need to prove harm.
- Defamation: a character attributing false statements or conduct to a real person.
- Privacy: content exposing your personal information.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery: treated as an emergency and actioned ahead of everything else.
For anything involving a minor or an immediate safety risk, email us directly and mark it URGENT.
Fan characters
Fan characters based on existing works are permitted at launch, on the understanding that rights holders may ask for removal at any time. We honour those requests. Rights holders who would prefer a standing arrangement, a blanket opt-out for a franchise rather than character-by-character notices, should contact us and we will set one up.
Reporting from inside the app
For content that violates our Content Policy rather than your rights, the fastest route is the Report button on any public character page in the app.

Knowingly filing a false takedown notice carries legal liability. Please be sure before you send one.
